We have an immediate (hybrid) Data Protection Systems Engineer position available in Washington, DC. If you join our team in this role, you will bring your extensive knowledge and experience in designing, developing, configuring, implementing, testing, troubleshooting, deploying, and supporting backup and recovery technical solutions for our government client's enterprise environment.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

• Engineering (designing, developing, testing, & implementing) CommVault backup/recovery solutions. 
• Create system architecture, design, implementation, and operations documentation.
• Provide Tier 3 level backup/recovery support of a large-scale federal government enterprise environment supporting nearly 20,000 users.

Required Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or other relevant discipline.
• Eight (8) years of relevant work experience may be substituted for degree.
• Possess a strong knowledge of Commvault data protection application.
• Utilizing the Commvault enterprise backup solutions you will design, develop, configure, integrate and secure complex backup, recovery and storage products over wide area network (WAN) in a multi-enterprise, complex, geographically dispersed environment.
• Create and maintain optimal backup, restore, and redundancy solutions for critical data.
• Review, plan, and participate in executing regularly scheduled maintenances on the storage infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot complex backup and recovery problems to include networking, application, hardware, and appliance related backup issues.
• Provide analytics, usage, capacity, planning, and reporting within the Commvault and Networker management and monitoring solution.
• Implement regular security updates and patches to related backup application servers and appliances.
• Work with operations teams to develop and support enterprise infrastructure processes, tools, and environments ensuring a timely response to backup, restore, and data replication requests.
• Experience with DISA STIGs and applying to Commvault related systems.
• Perform security related tasks which include documentation, vulnerability scan review, assessment support, patch management, and auditing.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

• Knowledge of technologies such as: LAN, WAN, Microsoft Windows Servers, Linux, SQL database.
• EMC NetWorker-Specific Specialist
• CommVault Certified Professional
• CommVault Certified Specialist – Disaster Recovery
• EMC Unity, PURE Storage, Cloud storage

Clearance:
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
