Jr. BigFix Engineer

We have an immediate opening for an Jr. BigFix Engineer in Washington, DC

  • Day‐to‐day activities to distribute security packages using BigFix.
  • Ensure all hardware is within compliance of the common operating environment
  • Identify and remediate discrepancies
  • Complete the overall patch/release cycle
  • Provide subject matter expertise on issues and tasks related to package distribution
  • Perform system vulnerability scanning by utilizing tools such as McAfee Vulnerability
  • Manager, Nessus (Tenable Security Center), AppDetective and WebInspect in order to
  • identify and track system vulnerabilities as part of the Security Assessment and
  • Authorization (SA&A) process.
  • Assist the ISSO with SA&A activities on the unclassified and classified networks following
  • DOJ/NIST Risk Management Framework.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Endpoint management and software deployment with IBM BigFix Endpoint Lifecycle Management System
  • System vulnerability scanning with Nessus Tenable Security Center
  • Work with endpoint security products to improve security posture.
  • Hands‐on engineering experience working on Windows Server 2008r2, 2012r2 and 2016 OS platforms.
  • Diagramming of system models & architecture designs, layouts, etc. using tools such as MS Visio.
  • Working familiarity with the system development life cycle.
  • Working understanding of Network IP addressing, subnets, gateways, ports, protocols, etc.
  • Working familiarity with project management processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Understanding of VMware ESXi and VDI technologies 

Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree or related experience 
  • Security certifications such as a CISSP, CISA, or CSSLP
  • U.S. Citizenship 
  • Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain.
