Data Center Project Manager

Our growth has been recognized in the Washington Technology Fast 50 and the INC. 5000. We have an immediate Data Center Project Manager position available in Arlington, Virginia.
 
Job Description and Responsibilities:
  • Define long term Data Center hosting platforms and develop migration plans to relocate services to updated platforms
  • Document and promote designated technical standards and pilot the technology
  • Devise standard bill of material for local sites to source using preferred regional suppliers
  • Lead the evaluation and selection of Data Center products
  • Work closely with enterprise architecture to ensure alignment plans
  • Ensure that industry best practices are incorporated into standard solutions delivered
  • Collaborates across IT and business teams to ensure client satisfaction
  • Manages service delivery performance through SLAs and other key performance metrics
  • Track and report on project milestones and provide status reports to client, project teams, and other project stakeholders
  • Create and execute project backlog and work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and project demands
  • Form strong project team relationships by leading, coaching, and motivating team members, and identifying and resolving blockers or conflicts
  • Coordinate the efforts of team members with client teams into a coordinated project effort
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
  • Manage project scope by ensuring any changes are documented and approved through a change control process
  • Proactively identify project issues and risks and create successful action plans for resolving issues and mitigating risks
  • Track and report on project milestones and provide status reports to client, project teams, and other project stakeholders
 
Qualifications:
  • Ten plus years of experience managing complex and transformative IT projects such as software development, data center migrations or cloud computing strategies
  • Provides leadership experience
  • Able to lead and guide the completion of major programs and projects
  • Participates as a Subject Matter Expert in technical and business discussions with clients, teammates, vendors, partners and /or upper level managers
  • Ability to manage and/or lead cross-functional teams for Customer engagements
  • Has in-depth experience with key practices, processes and methodologies applicable to project management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading scoping and design sessions, managing geographically dispersed teams and identifying and resolving client and team risks and conflicts
  • Highly organized with proven ability to handle multiple, competing priorities simultaneously and make things happen in fast-paced, dynamic environments
  • Demonstrated experience in working in unstructured environments that required designing and implementing creative project management methodologies
  • Agile approach in personal work style, with ability to be flexible and adept in dealing with and resolving ambiguity
  • Track record of building successful relationships, internally and externally
  • Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills including creating usable documentation and tools
  • Ability to travel occasionally as projects require
 
  
Experience:
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) experience, with a focus on managing and delivering cloud based leveraged services via fixed unit prices
 
Preferred Certifications:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Program Management Professional (PgMP)
  • Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP)
  • ITIL v3 Intermediate
