We have an immediate opening for an Virtualization Engineer in Washington, DC available to organize, implement and maintain scheduling management system supporting identified projects and their plans.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Improve backup/Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations.
  • Build & maintain Windows 10 images for VDI.
  • Assess and anticipate infrastructure and technology improvements and recommend appropriate action.
  • Following an SDLC (system development lifecycle) the Engineer should capture requirements, design, develop, test, and deploy technical solutions from ‘cradle-to-grave’ using proper change control processes and procedures within a large-scale enterprise that uses multi-deployment phased (Lab, Alpha, Beta, Production) sites.
  • Providing written requirements, system architecture plans and designs, test plans, implementation plans, operation guides, and overall subject matter expertise for VMware systems, MS Windows desktop applications, MS Windows Server, VMware, and related COTS OS deployment technologies.
  • Articulating knowledge, discoveries, designs, etc. rapidly and concisely in written detailed designs, test plans and test cases, implementation plans, operational guides, and training guides under project management time and cost-constrained deadlines.
  • Identifying, testing, and performing hardware and software equipment configuration updates, and maintaining an optimized, stable, VMware environment.
  • Performing work without appreciable direction and exercising considerable latitude in the determination of technical objectives of assignments.

  • Enterprise-level hardware, to include:
    • Dell VRTX
    • Dell Nutanix XC-series appliances
    • HPE ProLiant blade and rackmount servers
    • Cisco UCS
  • Enterprise-level Desktop features—Windows 10 support
  • MDT deployment technologies
  • Understand architectural frameworks such as TOGAF
  • Understand cloud technologies and service-oriented architecture
  • Understand principles of hyperconverged infrastructure
  • Understand principles of ITIL
  • Proficient in PowerShell and automation
  • Windows High Availability and Disaster Recovery with Hyper-V
  • Able to create architectural design documents and presentations
  • Able to test and apply hardware and software updates

  • vCenter Site Recovery Manager
  • vCenter Operations Manager
  • NSX
  • Virtual SAN
  • Public Trust or ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
