We're looking for a talented SolarWinds Engineer to join our team in Columbia, SC. This position will support enterprise monitoring and infrastructure operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on SolarWinds experience along with a broad understanding of networking, Windows/Linux systems, virtualization, SQL, and security concepts. This role requires a proactive problem-solver who can troubleshoot across multiple areas of IT and develop effective monitoring solutions.

Work Location:
Hybrid – A mix of onsite and remote work. 

Clearance: 
Must be US citizen with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities: 
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot SolarWinds monitoring solutions across an enterprise environment.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network, server, application, cloud, and virtualization environments.
  • Work with infrastructure and operations teams to identify issues and develop effective monitoring and troubleshooting solutions.
  • Use SQL queries to support SolarWinds reporting, troubleshooting, and monitoring activities.
  • Analyze system and application logs to identify performance, availability, and configuration issues.
  • Apply basic networking and security concepts when troubleshooting infrastructure and application issues.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, technical documentation, and monitoring procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve monitoring capabilities and develop creative solutions to meet operational needs.
Required Education, Experience & Skills
  • Associates degree in Computer Science; OR Active CompTIA A+ certification; OR 3 years Windows Active Directory and SQL system administration experience
  • 3+ years of experience with SolarWinds in an enterprise IT environment.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including routing, protocols, and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, including troubleshooting and reviewing system/application logs.
  • Experience with VMware or other virtualization technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and ability to write basic queries.
  • Understanding of fundamental IT security concepts and their application to troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot across multiple technology areas.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to think creatively and develop practical monitoring solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP).
  • Experience with SolarWinds NPM, NCM, NTA, VNQM, IPAM, and/or SAM.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages.
  • Experience integrating SolarWinds with other monitoring tools.
  • Experience monitoring cloud and VMware environments.
  • Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM practices.

Salary Range
$85,000-$96,000
The posted salary range represents the anticipated compensation for this position. Final compensation will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications, years of directly relevant experience, education, certifications, security clearance, contract requirements, and other business considerations.
